She was born June 16, 1924, in Peoria, a daughter of Gladys and Paul Valentine Strehlow. She married William (Bill) Foster on Aug. 21, 1948. He preceded her in death in 2014.
She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Anne Vance and Gladys (Sis) Hallett.
Surviving are one brother, Paul (Bro) Valentine Strehlow of Evanston; one daughter, Marcia (Rhea) Taylor of Peoria; one son, Michael (and Wendy) Foster of Downers Grove; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Peoria High School in 1942 and the University of Arizona in Tucson in 1946.
She was a member of PEO and she worked at Bradley University in the Alumnae Records/Public Relations Department for approximately 10 years. She was very involved in and dedicated to First Presbyterian Church in Peoria.
She and Bill moved to Table Grove in 1982, remaining there until 2006, when they returned permanently to Peoria. She lived at Independence Village in Peoria from 2006-18, then moved to Apostolic Christian Skylines, where she’d been residing at the time of her death.
A private inurnment will be held in Harris Cemetery in Table Grove. A Celebration of Life will be held during her birth month of June. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
