Kennard FowlerKennard L. Fowler, 90, of Rushville died at 7:02 p.m. April 8, 2018, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born June 20, 1927, in Bethel Township, McDonough County, a son of Benny and Bessie Hillyer Fowler. He married Abbie L. Walters on Oct. 10, 1947, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Ted (and Trenna) Fowler of Rushville; one brother, Gary (and Sandra) Fowler of Macomb; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Noah Dale Fowler; two sisters, Ester Willie and Helen Sapp-Vanier; and two brothers, Howard Lawson Fowler and Karos Fowler.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a combat infantryman. He worked at King Seeley Thermos Company for 33 years. He also drove a school bus for Schuyler/Industry School District for more than 25 years.

He was a member of Macomb Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1921.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Mr. David Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Blackburn Cemetery with Military Honors by Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and a U.S. Army Honor Detail. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
