He was born July 7, 1938, in Canton, a son of Thomas and Mildred Hamm France.
Surviving are two daughters, Melinda (and Naji) France Al Jabry of Minnesota and Tammy (and Thomas) France Boyer of California; one brother, Phil (and Betty) France of Janesville, Wis.; one sister, Mary Katherine France of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald France; and one infant sister, Norma Jean France.
He graduated from Cuba High School in 1956, and attended Western Illinois University. He was in the U.S. Army from 1957-59. He worked at Hiram Walker in Peoria. He moved to Wisconsin and worked at Beloit Corporation before moving again to work at 3M in St. Paul, Minn.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Doug Krukewitt officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Ipava Cemetery, with Military Rites provided by the Ipava American Legion.
