Lyle Frank Ford Jr.Lyle Frank Ford Jr., 73, of Rushville died at 2 a.m. March 8, 2013, at his residence.

He was born May 19, 1939, in Schuyler County, a son of Lyle F., Sr. and Aline Street Ford. He married Janet Sue Hoffman on June 21, 1959, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Mike (and Janey) Ford of Rushville and Jeff (and Billie Jo) Ford of Athens; one daughter, Melinda (and Jim) Etter of Rushville; one brother, Steve (and Jan) Ford of Beardstown; two sisters, Carolyn (and Harold "Red") Ambrosius and Nancy (and Larry) Lashbrook, both of Rushville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother–in-law, Gary Moore; and one nephew, Brent Moore.

He graduated from Rushville High School in 1957.

He worked for Ford's Grocery and Package Liquor in Rushville and was an aide to State Senator John Knuppel for six months. He was employed by Illinois Secretary of State from 1973 until 1984 and Napa Auto Parts from 1985 until retirement in 2004.

He was past president of Schuyler Jaycees and Rushville High School Alumni Association. He served as a Schuyler County Democratic Chairman for many years and was a past trustee of Rushville Township Board.

Services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Mr. David Haney officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
