G. Jane “Janey” Farwell, 88, of Rushville died at 1:15 a.m. Feb. 1, 2011, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mount Sterling.
She was born July 29, 1922, in Browning, the daughter of Don and Ocia (Fisher) Hughes. She married Louis L. Farwell on May 31, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Les (and Terri) Farwell of Beardstown; two daughters, Connie (and Tom) Whorton of Maricopa, Ariz., and Janice (and Jerry) Beans of Chapin; one brother, Arlo (and Juanita) Hughes of Emily, Minn.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Larry Farwell; and one brother, Cecil Hughes.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Sixth Street Lutheran Church of Beardstown and attended St. Johns Lutheran Church of Rushville.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Browning Cemetery with Pastor Joseph Eckman officiating. Visitation will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.
