Verna Mae Frye, 92, of Peoria died at 6:05 p.m. Nov. 26, 2010, at Heartland Manor Care in Peoria.
She was born Jan. 1, 1918, in Moore County, Texas, near Dumas, Texas, a daughter of Clinton E. and Corda Lalicker Frye.
Surviving are one cousin, Norma (and Shelby) Lightle of Lostant; and other cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Dorene Frye.
She held various jobs working in Washington, D.C., Dayton, Ohio, Macomb and Peoria in business and secretarial work. She also was a licensed real estate agent.
She resided in Macomb until her father’s death. Then she moved to Peoria to work and serve as a caregiver to her mother, until her death in 1978. She retired in Peoria.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Vermont Cemetery with Rev. Danie deBeer officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.
