Eldon FegleyEldon W. Fegley, 81, of Macomb died at 10:02 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009, at Wesley Village Healthcare Center in Macomb.

He was born Feb. 29, 1928, in Schuyler County, a son of David and Lydia Cunningham Fegley. He first married Ardith Jean Andersen on Sept. 2, 1949, in Brush, Colo. She preceded him in death in January 1998. He later married Mary (Tomlinson) Vogler on Nov. 30, 2002, in Alabama. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Allan (and Elizabeth) Fegley of Ft. Collins, Colo.; two brothers, James Fegley of Warner Robbins, Ga., and Edward (and Mary Lou) Fegley of Rockport, Texas; one sister, Marguerite Davis of Springfield; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Phyllis Elaine Fegley; one son, Raymond Fegley; and three sisters, Nellie Fegley, Norma Roberts and Virginia Sargent.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947.

He and his wife lived in several towns in Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming while employed by the CB & Q Railroad. In January 1959, they settled in Denver, where he began working for Interstate Commerce Commission as an inspector of signals and train controls. In April 1967, his position was transferred to the Federal Railroad Administration from where he retired in 1989.

He was a member of First Congregational Church of Greeley, Colo., Sunrise Sam’s RV Chapter, Disabled American Veterans and American Legion. He was a former member of Valley Vista and Westminster United Methodist Churches and Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen Lodge No. 119.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Services were held Saturday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Steve Pichaske officiating. Inurnment was in Highland Memorial Garden in Denver, Colo.
