Kay L. Frye, 63, of Macomb, formerly of Vermont, died at 10:35 a.m. Nov. 26, 2008, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born June 3, 1945, in Macomb, a daughter of Keith and Mary Strickland Mansir. She married Barry Frye on Jan. 26, 1979, in Galesburg. He died June 11, 1999.
She also was preceded in death by her father, Keith Mansir.
Surviving are one daughter, Sara Frye of Macomb; one stepdaughter, Correne (and Phil) Keefauver of Cold Springs, Minn.; her mother, Mary Mansir of Macomb; one brother, Duane (and Dale) Mansir of Colchester; one sister, Debbie Mansir of St. Charles, Mo.; and three step-grandchildren.
She was owner and operator of Kay’s Fashion in Bushnell, owner and operator of West Central Motor Company in Vermont with her husband Barry, then worked at Maid Rite Restaurant in Macomb.
Graveside services were held Saturday at Vermont Cemetery with Rev. Tim Gilliland officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
