Betty FulksBetty B. Fulks, 83, of Rushville died at 5:50 p.m. Aug. 28, 2008, at Culbertson Long Term Care Facility in Rushville.

She was born April 19, 1925, in Rushville, a daughter of Frank Ernest and Vala D. Horney Andre. She married Robert “Pete” Fulks on June 11, 1950, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Doug Fulks of Rushville; and one sister, Linda Andre of Kailua, Hawaii.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Stephens and Eileen Rexroat; and two brothers, Robert and Harold Andre.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Rushville and Order of Eastern Star.

She graduated from Rushville High School in 1943 and attended University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana.

She worked at Camp Ellis during World War II and was a secretary in the Macomb, Springfield and Rushville areas, last working with the grand secretary for Illinois Grand Masonic Lodge.

She belonged to Rushville High School cheerleading squad that accompanied RHS boy’s basketball team to State Championship in 1940.

She was a member of many Bridge clubs and Scripps Park Golf leagues.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Steve Pichaske officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
