Donald L. Fawcett, 84, of Ipava died at 7:55 p.m. Aug. 19, 2007, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Nov. 25, 1922, in Table Grove, a son of C.O. and Gladys Callahan Fawcett. He married Louise Cleer on Jan. 31, 1942, in Missouri. She died Jan. 24, 1966. He later married Beverly Stockdale Cook in 1967. She died May 1, 1993.

He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Tina Louise Fawcett; and one brother, Max Fawcett.

Surviving are two sons, Gary (and Pat) Fawcett of Canton and Mark (and Linda) Fawcett of Table Grove; two daughters, Rita Hatch of Macomb and Jo Thome of Ipava; three sisters, Zelda Brignall of Bartonville, Mary Carmody of Texas and Linda (and Marty) Long of Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving as a Tech 5 in the 108th Evac Hospital.

He was a truck driver and a mechanic for C.O. Fawcett Trucking.

He was a member of Ipava Presbyterian Church, Ipava Sportsman Club, Ipava American Legion Post #17, Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Knight Templar, past trustee for the Village of Ipava, Ipava Truckers Association and Ipava Order of the Eastern Star #226.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ipava Cemetery with military rites accorded by his legion post and masonic services by Ipava Masonic Lodge #213. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava is in charge of arrangements.
