MADELYN (FISHER) MCKEOWN FENTON

Madelyn Fenton

Mrs. Madelyn McKeown Fenton, 84, of Blandinsville, died at 3:05 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 1996, at her home.

She was born July 4, 1911 in Blandinsville, a daughter of Charles and Florence Ashby Fisher. She was first married to Norman McKeown in 1928. He preceded her in death in 1935. She married Harmon McKeown in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1961. In 1974, she married William N. Fenton. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Norma Renshaw of Burnside; three sons, Donald McKeown of Alexis, Billy McKeown of Blandinsville and Charles McKeown of Pekin; four stepchildren, Elaine Peterson of Washington, Pauline Ramsey of Rome, William N. Fenton Jr. of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Vicky Sheehan of Marion; two sisters, Dorothy Cox of Macomb and Ruth Hobby of Blandinsville; 17 grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Fenton had attended Blandinsville schools. She had worked at the Globe Company in Macomb and had operated the Highway Cafe in Blandinsville for several years. She was a member of the Blandinsville Baptist Church and a former member of the Oasis Rebekah Lodge in Blandinsville.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. David Goodell officiating. Burial was in the Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville.

Memorials may be made to the McDonough County Hospice.
