VeteranWheeler Fawcett Of Macomb Dies

Wheeler F. Fawcett, 88, of 322 W. Piper, Macomb, died at 8:23 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1980, in the Americana Health Care Center. He had lived in Macomb since 1950.

He was born Apr. 23, 1892, in Fulton County, a son of Levi and Maggie May (Foster) Fawcett. He married Ruth M. John Dec. 24, 1919.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Browning of Chillicothe, Mrs. Mary Lotz of Vermont, and Mrs. Elizabeth Hulett of Macomb; six sons, David of Rock Island, Wheeler Fawcett Jr. of Peoria, Wayne of Canton, Mich., George of Tampa, Fla., John of Lake City, Fla., and Eugene of Davenport, Iowa; 39 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two half brothers, Robert and James Fawcett, both of Long Beach, Calif.; six half sisters, Georgianna Shryack and Florence Walthers, both of Macomb, Leola Russler, Bushnell; and Hazel Crouch, Mabel Stuelpnagle and Nell Bailey, all of Long Beach.

One son, one brother and one half brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Fawcett was a retired mechanic and a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Chapel with Rev. James Hussey officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the Assembly of God Church building fund.
