Harold D. Falkenstein, 72, of 2250 Pearl St., Belvidere, former Astoria resident, died at 1:25 a.m. Wednesday, Apr. 16, 1980, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Belvidere.
He was born Feb. 2, 1908, at Astoria, the son of William O. and Sarah (Danner) Falkenstein. On Mar. 14, 1928, he married Lelah Seitzinger at Astoria. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, H. Robert Falkenstein of Belvidere; one daughter, Mrs. John Rymon of Peoria; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Kathlyn Clanin.
Mr. Falkenstein was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Odd Fellows Lodge.
Funeral services were held Friday in Belvidere with burial in Highland Garden of Memories.
