Lelah Falkenstein Dies At Age 63

Mrs. Lelah M. Falkenstein, 63, of 909 E. 2nd St., Belvidere, died suddenly Sunday morning in her home.

She was born Jan. 7, 1907 in Bridgeport, Lawrence County, Ill., a daughter of William R. and Pearl Lamont Seitzinger. She was married on March 14, 1929 to Harold Falkenstein of Astoria who survives.

Mrs. Falkenstein was educated in the Astoria schools. Her father was a former minister of the United Brethren Church in Astoria.

The Falkensteins moved to Belvidere 23 years ago. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church there.

She is survived by her husband, one son, H. Robert Falkenstein; one daughter, Mrs. Joan Ryman of Peoria; her mother; 4 grandchildren; and one sister, Eloise James of Lafayette, Ind. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the Witbeck-Wheeler-Sabien Funeral Home in Belvidere. Burial will be in Highland Garden of Memories.
