AMANDA (SCHISLER) FITZ

Funeral This Afternoon For Mrs. Amanda Fitz

Amanda Fitz, daughter of Henry and Magdalena Wise-Schisler, was born southwest of Astoria, Dec. 23, 1865. She passed away at her home Jan. 22, 1956, at the age of 90 years and 27 days.

She was united in marriage to Emanuel H. Fitz, Oct. 9, 1887. To this union was born two daughters, Mrs. Ada E. Rust, who preceded her mother in death, and Mrs. Bula Stambaugh of Astoria who cared for her. Her husband preceded her in death Jan. 6, 1948; also four brothers and three sisters.

Those surviving are the daughter and husband; one grandson, Milton D. Rust, Evergreen Colo.; one great-granddaughter, Rita Rust, Westminster, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Rosella Sullivan, Astoria; also many nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Fitz united with the Church of the Brethren 65 years ago. In later years she changed her membership to the South Fulton Dunkard Brethren church. She lived a consecrated Christian life. Was a wonderful Christian mother and was always willing to help those in need. Dearest mother thou hast left us.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock this afternoon in the South Fulton Dunkard Brethren church, by Elders George Replogle and H. R. Dickey. Burial was in South Fulton cemetery.
