Kermitt EasleyKermitt R. Easley, 65, of Canton died at 6:52 p.m. Oct. 23, 2007, at Graham Hospital emergency room in Canton.

He was born April 25, 1942, in Macomb, a son of Keith and Jessie Brockley Easley. He first married Donna Lyons in 1966. She preceded him in death. He later married Bonnie Riley on Dec. 21, 1969, in Canton. She survives.

Also surviving are five daughters, Robin (and Todd) Ewalt, Jeri (and DeLoyd) Gentry and Tiffani (and Kevin) Tarter, all of Canton, Tess (and Tim) Link of Dunfermline, and Kimberly (and Clint) Hollis of Doyline, La.; two sisters, Louise Walke of Quincy, Fla., and Martha Chenoweth of Morton; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, William; and one sister, Janette Porter.

He was a Vietnam War U.S. Army veteran serving with Satcom Division.

He was a member of Vermont Christian Church.

He was owner and operator of Easley Mechanical Services in Canton.

He was a member of Canton Chamber of Commerce, Fulton County Farm Bureau and Gelbvieh Cattle Association.

Services were held Saturday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Burial was in Walnut Cemetery in rural Banner.

Memorials may be made to an Agriculture Scholarship at Spoon River College in care of MidAmerica National Bank in his name.
