Long Illness Ends

Mrs. Savilla S. Ebbert Died at the Home of Her Daughter, Mrs. W. M. Barnes, Thursday — Burial At Summum.

Following a long illness, Mrs. Savilla Stonesifer Ebbert, died Thursday morning at 8 o’clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. W. M. Barnes in Astoria, with whom she has made her home the past 22 years.

The deceased had been in poor health for the past year and a half and since November, has been confined to bed. She was born Jan. 8, 1831 near Westminster, Maryland, where she spent her girlhood days. She was united in marriage with George M. Ebbert, Nov. 28, 1853 and to this union six children were born, who together with an adopted son was present, excepting one son, William, who resides in Iowa.

She with her husband and one daughter, aged 6 months, came to Illinois early in the year 1855, settling at Summum, where she resided until eight years ago, when she moved to Astoria.

Mrs. Ebbert united with the Reformed church at Westminster, Md., at an early age and after coming to Illinois she became a charter member of the Reformed church at Summum in which church she was a faithful worker until death.

Besides her children she leaves to mourn her death 32 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Her husband died 23 years ago.

Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Barnes, in this city, Saturday at 11 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Mrs. Waggoner of Ipava. Interment in the Summum cemetery.
