Teddy DoddsTeddy Grove Dodds, 73, of Frederick died at 4:54 p.m. July 14, 2021, at his home.

He was born Dec. 20, 1947, in Beardstown, a son of Fred Grove and Rozella N. Eckhart Dodds. He married Kay Severns on June 8, 1968, in Beardstown. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2013.

He also was preceded in death by three children, Holly Kay Dodds, Jason Frederick Dodds and Jodi William Dodds; two brothers, Russell Dodds and Jack Rebman; and two sisters, Jean Burgett and Nancy Jo Trone.

Surviving are one sister, Linda (and Dan) McDougal of South Fulton, Tenn.; one half-brother, Darwin (and Donna) Dodds of Rushville; one grandson, Scott Michael (and Elani) Dodds of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren, Elijah Dodds and Aurora Kay Dodds.

He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War Era. He was first employed by Oscar Meyer and Bohn Aluminum, both in Beardstown. Later he was an independent carpenter and a custodian at Rushville High School. He retired, after over 19 years of service, as a custodian at the Schuyler County Court House. He was pump house operator for Coal Creek Drainage District for many years.

He was a member of Frederick Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Brenda Wessel officiating. Burial will follow in Messerer Cemetery with Military services by Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and U.S. Army Honor Detail.

Memorials may be made to Rushville Little League.
