He was born Aug. 15, 1937, in Summum, a son of Ross and Kathryn Danner. He married Margarett “Carol” Luke on July 17, 1959. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Lori Lynn (and Bob) Cox and Jill Carol (and David) Harris, both of Springfield; one brother, Kerry (and Bonnie) Danner of Trivoli; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Riverton Christian Church. He retired from the State of Illinois in 2000.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with Nick Sutton officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
