Letha DupoyLetha Laverne Dupoy, 87, of Rushville died at 10:30 a.m. March 2, 2013, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born April 4, 1925, in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler Co., a daughter of Ephraim and Irene Newingham Kirkham. She married William Ross Dupoy on May 6, 1943, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1990.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Lois McMillan; one sister, Gladys Kirkham; six brothers, Roy, Henry, Ephraim, Desmond, Robert and Verlin "Bud" Kirkham; and one grandson, John McMillan II.

Surviving are one son, William R. (and Rhonda) Dupoy of Rushville; two daughters, Janet (and Tony) Luparell of Springfield and Lynn Carroll of Beardstown; two brothers, Edgar (and Joan) Kirkham of Beardstown and John (and Ruth) Kirkham of Jacksonville; four sisters, Sara (and Dale) Kruse of Beardstown, Glenna (and Robert) Little of North Fort Myers, Fla., Vada Downs of Rushville and Zelda (and Harold) Bishop of Lockport; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was the past treasurer of VFW Auxiliary and past secretary of Schuyler American Legion Auxiliary Unit #4.

She was a life-long member of Cooperstown Christian Church. She also was a dedicated military wife supporting her husband during his Army career.

During World War II, while her husband was overseas, she worked in the munitions industry in Jacksonville making 50-caliber shell casings.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Rob Kirkham officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery.
