Darrel DeHartDarrel E. DeHart, 68, of Rushville died at 10:20 p.m. Dec. 17, 2012, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Nov. 4, 1944, in Pike County, a son of James Earl and Margaret Marie McCallister DeHart. He married Phyllis Kesterson on July 3, 1965, in Pittsfield.

Surviving are his mother, Marie DeHart of Griggsville; four daughters, Paula (and Tim) Noland of Virginia, Pam (and Chris) Clayton of Rushville, Debbie (and Steve) Wallace of Greenview and Kelly (and John) Bartlow of Wichita, Kan.; three brothers, James (and Julie) DeHart of Quincy, Rodney (and Evelyn) DeHart of Griggsville and Donald (and Patty) DeHart of Springfield; seven grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; one grandson, Jordan Christopher Clayton; and one brother, Richard DeHart.

He began his career with the opening of Oscar Mayer Plant in Beardstown in 1965, where he worked as a meat cutter. He retired from Cargill Corporation as a supervisor in 2007.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Reverend John Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
