She was born Feb. 26, 1908, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Perry E. and Paulina Harmon Shields. She married Bennie O. Derry on Nov. 3, 1926, in Lewistown. He died May 30, 1992.
She also was preceded in death by two sons, Jack and Richard; two sisters, Winifred Wrestler and Florine Malott; and three brothers, Theodore, Forrest and Park Shields.
Surviving are six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker.
She attended Summum Christian Church in Summum.
She won awards for the afghans she made.
Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Stacy Tomich officiating. Burial was in Baughman Cemetery in Smithfield.
