Everett "Slim" DannerEverett C. "Slim" Danner, 93, of Ipava died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, at Astoria Gardens & Rehab Center.

He was born Jan. 17, 1912, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of Claude and Louella Brinton Danner.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Merlin and Duane; and two sisters, Olive Mayall and Norine Hayes.

A World War II Army veteran, he served in the 358th Field Artillery Battalion in northern France, central Europe and the Rhineland. He was a radio repairman. He was a member of Ipava American Legion Post 17.

He farmed most of his life and also worked for Pleasant Township and the Village of Ipava. He was a member of the Ipava Sportsman Club.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rev. Leonard Leslie officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery, where military honors were accorded by his American Legion post.

Memorials may be made to his American Legion post, Ipava Rescue Squad or Spoon River Hospice.
