DON E. DEPPERMANN

Don E. Deppermann, 77, of Trivoli died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Aug. 29, 1925, in Glasford, a son of George and Alma Slone Deppermann. He married Ellen Fitzgerald on April 10, 1948, in Peoria County. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Ronald (and Dana) of Hanna City; one daughter, Marilyn (and Morey) Denney of Canton; three brothers, Roy of Astoria, Dale of Trivoli and Ralph of Hanna City; one sister, Wanda Schuman of Bartonville; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

A World War II Army veteran, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded two Purple Hearts. He was a member of American Legion Post 35 of Glasford.

A member of the Peoria County Farm Bureau, he had been a farmer in the Trivoli area.
He was a member of the Soil Conservancy and the ASC.

He was on the Logan School Board, the Farmington High School Board and served as a trustee for the Logan-Trivoli Fire Protection District.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington with Rev. James Reed officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery in rural Glasford.

Memorials may be made to the Logan-Trivoli Fire Protection District or White Chapel Church in rural Glasford.
