Maxine DeWitt, 72, of Beardstown, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 19, 1925, in Beardstown, a daughter of Sidney Calvin and Stella Mikesell DeWitt.
Surviving are three brothers, Tom DeWitt of Beardstown, Sidney DeWitt Jr. and Browning and Jack DeWitt of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters.
She was a member of Browning United Methodist Church.
Services were held Saturday at Sager Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Sheese officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.
