VeteranG. Lyle Douglas Of Peoria Heights Dies

G. Lyle Douglas, 68, of 1320 E. Marietta, Peoria Heights, for 29 years, died at 12:03 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 1980, at his residence.

Born April 1, 1912, in Browning to Charles W. and Mildred Shultz Douglas, he married Dorothy Schweiss Oct. 10, 1935, in Kewanee.

He worked at Pabst Brewery 39 years, the last 15 years as a supervisor. He retired in 1975.

Mr. Douglas was a member of St. Thomas Church, a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of AMVETS Post 64, Pabst Retirees Club and the Flemish American Society of Kewanee. He was also a member of the Pabst Quarter Century Club.

Surviving are his wife; three sisters, Mrs. Louise McCombs of Bader, Mrs. Ruth Baslis and Miss Doris Douglas, both of Kewanee; and one brother, Marvin of Quincy.

Two sons and two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary and 10 at St. Thomas Church, Monsignor Bernard Rank officiating. Burial was in Swan Lake Cemetery.
