Husband And Wife Die Four Days Apart

Mrs. Doris Danner, 40, of Bloomington, died at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28 at Illinois Research Hospital in Chicago.

She was born at Clinton, Ill., on Feb. 10, 1925, a daughter of Homer and Goldie Easton Thompson. She was married to Ernest Danner in Washington, Ill. on July 23, 1956.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Danner, a former Table Grove resident; her mother, Goldie Thompson; four daughters, Vickilyn, at home; Darlene Daugherty, Mrs. Judy Ann Johnson, Lincoln; Diane Daugherty, Bloomington; two sons, Daniel and Jack of Bloomington; two brothers, Homer Merle Thompson of Bloomington and Charles Ray Thompson of Clearwater Fla. Two sisters preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 31 at the Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington with Rev. Ralph Crowell officiating. Burial was in Park Hill Cemetery.

Harry Danner, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Danner, Harve Danner, Mrs. Ebert Teel, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dean Danner of Table Grove and Mrs. Paul VanFossen of Vermont attended the funeral services.

Relatives received word of the death of Mrs. Danner’s husband, Ernest, which occurred Tuesday evening, Feb. 1.

Ernest W. Danner, 63, of Bloomington, died at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, in Mennonite Hospital in Bloomington where he had been a patient since Saturday night. He entered the hospital after the death Friday of his wife, Doris. Her funeral was Monday.

Mr. Danner was born at Ipava in 1902, a son of Edward and Barbara Weber Danner. He married Doris Thompson on July 23, 1945 at Washington, Ill.

Survivors are four sons: Ernest L., Peoria; Raymond E., Napa, Calif.; Delbert L., East Peoria; and LaVerne G., Toluca; two daughters, Vickilyn at home; Mrs. Ollidean L. Pacheco, Napa, Calif.; three brothers, Leo W. Danner, Peoria; Harve W. and Harry W. Danner, both of Table Grove. One sister, Lanah Vaughn, Canton, and one brother, Noah Danner, Vermont, preceded him in death.

Mr. Danner was employed by Caterpillar in Peoria for 19 years until his retirement in 1964.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 5, at the Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington with Rev. Ralph Crowell officiating and burial was in Park Hill cemetery there.

Harry Danner, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Danner, Harve Danner, Mr. and Mrs. Ebert Teel and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dean Danner, Table Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Paul VanFossen, Vermont; Mrs. Gene Lauria, Macomb; and Wayne Danner attended the funeral services.

Mr. Danner was well-known in this area.
