Former Local Area Methodist Pastor Dies

The Rev. William Henry Day, 81, retired Methodist minister and former pastor of churches in Astoria and La Harpe, died Wednesday at a hospital in Lincoln, Ill. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the First Methodist Church in Galesburg. The Rev. Joseph Huffman officiated, and burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.

The Rev. Day was hospitalized on Sunday. He retired from the ministry in 1951, but had continued to serve a small church at New Holland.

Surviving are his widow, Maude, a daughter, Mrs. J. W. Eagle of Galesburg, and a son, William of Morton.
