Bluff City Woman Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Alice Dixon, a life long resident of Bluff City, died suddenly at her home in that village Sunday, from a heart attack, at about 9:00 o’clock. Her son, Robert Dixon, of Havana, had called to visit her. She complained of being ill. Soon afterwards she passed away. She lived alone.

She was born February 4, 1865 at Bluff City, a daughter of Henry and Polly Garrett Dutton. She was aged 83 years, 8 months and 13 days. She was united in marriage to Milo Dixon Nov. 3, 1882. He passed away Feb. 14, 1935. To this union six children were born: Robert of Havana; Mrs. Goldie Briney of Peoria; Mrs. Mary Sackman of Bluff City; Richard Dixon, Veterans Hospital, Jacksonville; James and Mrs. Mint Darling, who preceded her in death; also 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Matilda Talbert of Sheffield.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Bluff City church, conducted by Rev. Fred Thompson. Burial in the Bluff City cemetery.
