Jesse H. Danner Aged Woodland Resident Dies

Jesse H. Danner, son of Rev. Jesse and Elizabeth Hahf Danner, was born in Hanover, Pa., March 14, 1847 and departed this life at his home near Summum, June 9, 1935, aged 88 years, 3 months and 5 days.

On Dec. 28, 1873 he was married to Barbara Ellen Heltzel, who departed this life July 7, 1919. To this union were born two children, Frank at home and Mrs. Nora Rawley of Astoria.

Mr. Danner came to this state by wagon with his parents when but a small child, settling near Astoria. After his marriage he has lived mostly in the vicinity of Summum.

Mr. Danner’s life was spent as a hard working, honest neighbor, always respecting the rights of others and willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

He leaves to mourn his loss the two children, one grandson, one great grandson, one brother, Samuel Danner of Lakeland, Florida and numerous friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Woodland Church of the Brethren, conducted by Rev. Max Hartsough. Music by Woodland male quartette with Frances Miller at the piano. Burial in the cemetery nearby.
