SARAH (BROOKS) DEVORE DANNER

Mrs. Henry Danner Died Friday

Mrs. Sarah Danner died at her home northeast of Astoria Friday, aged 48 years and 18 days.

Sarah Brooks was born in the state of Virginia. At the age of ten she came to Illinois with her parents, where she spent the remainder of her life. At the age of eleven she united with the Church of the Brethren.

On Nov. 22, 1898, she was united in marriage to Garret G. Devore. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Rosa Bell Kearney of Milwaukee, Wis. and Goldia Fay, deceased. Her husband died May 12, 1902.

On Dec. 21, 1902 she was united in marriage to Henry B. Danner. To this union three children were born, Grover of Galesburg, Hazel and Sarah at home. Her husband passed away Nov. 6, 1929.

Besides her children she is survived by four grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. David Lind and Mrs. Albert Rockwell of Woodland, Mrs. Will Shepherd of Roseville and Mrs. L. C. Matron of Kingfisher, Okla., also three brothers, Emanuel Brooks of Liberty, W. L. Brooks of Mason City, Albert Brooks of Cerro Gordo.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Church of the Brethren, Astoria, conducted by Rev. E. O. Norris. Burial in Woodland cemetery.
