David Coufal

David CoufalDavid B. Coufal, 72, of Browning died March 11, 2024.

He was born Nov. 20, 1951, in Jacksonville, a son of Harry J. and Evelyn Lucille Eads Coufal. He married Debra Unger on March 20, 1985. She survives in Browning.

Also surviving are his children, Casey (companion Rick Pierce) Hamilton of Broken Arrow, Okla., Kristine (companion Renee Perales) Hamilton of Jacksonville and David (wife Erica) Coufal of Browning; two brothers, Mike (wife Marjorie) Coufal and Marc (wife Penny) Coufal; five grandchildren, Josh (wife Larissa) Cowden, and Cali, Fulton, Emmit and Bryant Coufal; three great-grandchildren, Emilyn and Taralyn Cowden and Haidin Keller; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Terri Lyn Coufal Cowden; and one brother, Donald (surviving wife Martha) Coufal.

He graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1969. He was self-employed for most of his life. He was a commercial fisherman working on the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers, a Logger, and drove a semi-truck.

He was a member of Nostalgic Gassers.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
