He was born May 17, 1936, in Jacksonville, a son of Harold K. Sr. and Beulah Belle Miller Cox. He married Janis Joanne Williams on July 6, 1957, in Virginia, Ill. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2009.
He also was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brandi Sue; one great-grandson, Taylor Bryant; one brother, Dale; one sister, Lila Mae; and his stepmother, Lila.
Surviving are one son, Kenneth Wayne Cox of Arenzville; three daughters, Mary Ellen (and Dennis) Belville of Astoria, Suzanne Snow of Rushville and Diane Kathleen Tibbs of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Ruth Schlicthe of LaSalle, Mich., and Sandra Kay (and Kenny) Carpenter of Union, Ohio; two brothers, Ronald Kent (and Sue) Cox of Lebanon, Mo., and Dean Allen Cox of Astoria; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He attended school in Jacksonville.
He was a metal fabricator and did that work throughout his working career.
Funeral services were held Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Matthew Thiner officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.
