Harold CampbellHarold V. Campbell, 84, of Rushville died at 1:44 a.m. Oct. 27, 2013, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

He was born Jan. 14, 1929, on the family farm in Rushville Township, Schuyler County, a son of Valentine and Julia Croxton Campbell. He married Lillie Ellen Walton on Dec. 15, 1956, in Rushville. She preceded him in death on May 26, 1995.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Virgil Campbell; and four sisters, Ina Derry, Mary Knight, Olive White and Elizabeth Williams.

Surviving are two sons, Steve Campbell and Jim Campbell, both of Rushville; one daughter, Becky Campbell of Rushville; and one sister, Dorothy Peacock of Pekin.

He was a Korean War veteran.

He was a fork lift operator for ALCOA Aluminum in Princeville, retiring Jan. 14, 1991.

He was a member of Princeville American Legion and Veteran’s of Foreign Wars.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Fred Fritz officiating. Inurnment will follow in Browning Cemetery with military honors by a U.S. Army Honor’s Detail and Schuyler American Legion Post #4. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday.
