HOPE (REEDER) CALDWELL

Hope Caldwell

Hope Caldwell, 82, of Macomb, formerly of Industry, died at 9:55 a.m. Oct. 24, 2012, at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.

She was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Versailles, the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy Grist Reeder. She married Merle Caldwell on March 13, 1949, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 2010.

She also was preceded in death by one son, James Caldwell.

Surviving are four sons, Steve Caldwell (and friend Sue Watson) and Dennis (and Koreen) Caldwell, both of Macomb, Reverend Rodney (and Denise) Caldwell of Winslow and Ron (and Denise) Caldwell of Pittsfield; 14 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

She was a homemaker. After raising her sons, she earned a bachelors degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb. After her husband's retirement, she and her husband split their time between Mission, Texas, and Branson, Mo., where she worked as a cashier at Shoji Tabuchi Gift Shop.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Littleton, before transferring her membership to Doddsville United Methodist Church. She also was a member of Schuyler County Home Extension and enjoyed her coffee club for over 50 years.

Services were held Saturday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with David Haney and Pastor Jon Keck officiating. Burial was in Littleton Cemetery.
