Lester Giles Campbell, 91, of Kentwood, La., formerly of Rushville, died at 12:10 p.m. Aug. 24, 2010, in Kentwood Manor Nursing Home.
He was born March 15, 1919, in Schuyler County, a son of James Eli and Grace Stevens Campbell. He married Theora Grace Steele on Feb. 27, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. She preceded him in death on May 23, 1998.
He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Ellen Dodds; three brothers, Homer Campbell, Herbert E. Campbell and twin, Chester James Campbell; and two sisters, Minnie E. Simpson and Annabell Croxton.
Surviving are two daughters, Virginia Kay (and Joe) Allen of Kentwood, La., and Carol Ann (and Don) Muncy of Altus, Okla.; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and two step great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Saturday at Good Hope Cemetery.
Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
