Ruth CollinsRuth Lucille Collins, 85, of Lewistown, formerly of Little America, died at 8:30 p.m. March 27, 2008, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Canton.

She was born April 26, 1922, in Liverpool Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Logan J. and Hazel Marie Houston Whitehead. She married Raymond Lee “Bud” Collins on April 23, 1938, in Keokuk, Iowa. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Rick (and Connie) Collins of Lewistown; one daughter, Rosalind (and Burton) Cooper of Brownsburg, Ind.; two sisters, Maxine Stell of Wyoming and Alma Hall of Texas; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Rochelle Miller; and one brother, Beckley Whitehead.

She was a homemaker.

She was a lifetime member of Lewistown American Legion Post 1 Auxiliary, and past president of Lewistown VFW Post 5001 Auxiliary.

Services were held Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Danie deBeer officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.
