Ralph L. Cox, 90, of Astoria died at 11:30 p.m. March 9, 2008, at Astoria Gardens & Rehab Center.

He was born Dec. 22, 1917, in Browning Township, Schuyler County, a son of Benjamin Franklin and Sarah Ann Walton Cox. He married Maxine Bucher on July 30, 1965, in Rushville. She died Sept. 29, 2007.

He also was preceded in death by one grandson, Calvin Worley; five sisters and five brothers.

Surviving are one son, Benjamin (and Carolyn) Cox of Astoria; one daughter, Nelda (and Harold) Worley of Beardstown; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was a farmer in the Camden area and worked at lawn care in Astoria.

He was a member of Astoria Christian Church.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Astoria Christian Church with Gary Sheets officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Astoria. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to his church or Astoria Rescue Squad.
