Eldon B. Cox, 83, of Longview, Texas, formerly of Cullom, died Monday, May 3, 2004, at his home.

He was born Oct. 18, 1920, in Vermont, a son of Wilmer and Lucy Cox. His wife, Betty, preceded him in death.

He also was preceded in death by one sister, Cecil.

Surviving are two sons, Bernie (and Shelley) Cox of Bourbonnais and Harold (and Jana) Cox of Longview, Texas; one sister, Velma Sepich of Canton; two brothers, William Cox of Macomb and Wendell Cox of Metamora; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was a farmer in Illinois for the majority of his life.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a sergeant in the Pacific Theater.

Services were held May 6 in the Mausoleum at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview, Texas.
