MARY E. (CARRISON) CHENOWETH

Mary Chenoweth

Mary E. Chenoweth, 87, of Macomb, formerly of Burnside and Bernadotte, died at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at The Elms in Macomb.

She was born Jan. 11, 1915, in New Salem Township, McDonough County, a daughter of Fred and Blanche Wilson Carrison. She married Bernard Chenoweth on Oct. 27, 1939, in Adair. He died July 24, 1980.

She also was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Surviving are one daughter, Sue (and Bob) Hibbard of Carthage; one son, John (and Susan) Chenoweth of Table Grove; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She worked for seven years at Illinois School Supply of Carthage.

She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star Lodge of Ipava #226, First Christian Church of Ipava, the Homebuilders class of her church, Memorial Hospital of Carthage TWIG Hospital Auxiliary and Fulton County HEA. She also was a Fulton County 4-H leader.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rev. Beth Rupe officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at Shawgo Memorial Home. Burial will be in Ipava Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Everly House, Ipava First Christian Church or Ipava Order of Eastern Star Lodge #226.
