WILLARD C. CAMP

Willard C. Camp, 84, of Astoria, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997, at his home.

He was born Jan. 9, 1913, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of Charles and Anna Gauker Camp. He married Ina M. Blodgett on Oct. 28, 1939, in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Roger Camp of Oklahoma City; one brother, Lawrence Camp of Springfield; and four grandsons.

One infant son, one brother and two sisters preceded him in death.

A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of Astoria American Legion Post 25 and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a schoolteacher for 27 years, retiring in 1978. He was an insurance adjuster for Country Mutual for 13 years. He was also a carpenter. He was a member of the county, state and national Retired Teachers Association. He was a member of Astoria Christian Church, where he served on the board. He was a member of Astoria Public Library Board and Astoria Lions Club.

Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home with Jim Comstock and Gary Sheets officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to his church or to McDonough District Hospital hospice program in Macomb.
