Eugene D. “Bud” Clark, 73, of Galesburg, died at 1:07 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 1997, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

He was born April 15, 1924, in Astoria, the son of Joseph and Hazel Sparks Clark. He married Beverly Ward Ritter on Sept. 26, 1959, in Macomb. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, David E. Clark of Astoria, David A. Clark of Oneida and Greg A. Clark of Knoxville; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

He worked as a forklift operator for McLaughlin Machine Company in East Moline for several years, retiring in 1975. He lived in Knox and Fulton County area most of his life. He lived in Centralia from 1984 to 1995 before moving to Galesburg. He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Galesburg. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.

Services were held Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Julie Allison officiating. Burial was in East Linwood Cemetery.
