Joseph R. Clark, 62, Former Astorian, Dies

Joseph R. Clark, 62, of Table Grove, former Astoria resident, died Friday night at McDonough District Hospital, Macomb following an illness of several months.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with the Rev. Ira Hall officiating. Burial in Mud Valley cemetery south of Astoria.

Mr. Clark was born Aug. 19, 1897 in Fairfield, Ill., to David and Elsie Scrogum Clark.

Surviving are two sons, Robert of Dearborn, Mich., and Eugene of Table Grove, with whom Mr. Clark had lived for the past few years; one brother, Jesse H. Clark of Beardstown; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Two brothers and one daughter died previously.

The organist was Mrs. Phillip Kessler. Robert Walters, Randall Danner, Harry Miller, Carl Whitteberg, Wayne Poppenhager, and Mervin Lindsey were pallbearers.
