WILMA IRENE (WISE) CRIPE

Wilma Cripe

Wilma I. Cripe, 77, of Astoria, died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 1996, at Astoria Healthcare Center.

She was born May 17, 1919, in Vermont. Her parents were Arthur and Maydee Perkins Wise. She married Wilmer C. Cripe on Feb. 28, 1937, in Browning. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Johnnie L. Cripe of Springfield and Dean Cripe of Clear Lake, Iowa; one sister, Naomi Jamison of Middletown, Iowa; one brother, Forrest Wise of Paloma, Mo.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

One brother preceded her in death.

She was a member of Bader Christian Church in Bader. She was a retail sales clerk.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at her church with Rev. James Shirley officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Illini Children’s Home in St. Joseph’s.
