Charles W. Cuff Dies At Home

Charles William Cuff, 87, of Astoria, formerly of Collinsville, died at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 1990, at his home on North Penn St. Limits in Astoria.

He was born July 16, 1902, in Dover, Tenn., a son of James H. and Alice (Pearl) Cuff. On Dec. 14, 1954, in Waterloo, Ill., he was married to Evelyn Thacker. She survives.

Also surviving are one stepson, Howard Earl Kimbro of Astoria; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister, Joe Cuff and Rose Milam, both of Collinsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ethel Provow, Mabel Parker and Pearl Meadows; and two brothers, Harry and John Cuff.

He was a retired laborer of Western Leather Co. in Caseyville. He was a member of Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 15, at 10 a.m. at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home at 515 Vandalia, Collinsville with Rev. Dale Clemens officiating. Burial was in Lake View Memory Gardens at Belleville, Ill.

Memorials are requested to Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville.
