VeteranClyde A. Curless Of Peoria Dies

Clyde A. Curless, 92, of Peoria, formerly of Vermont, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1985, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born March 9, 1893, in Woodland Township, a son of Lorenzo and Susan Thomas Curless. He married Oga Shaw March 15, 1919, in Lewistown. She died Feb. 8, 1970.

Surviving are one son, Homer of Peoria; one daughter, Mrs. Virgil (Genieve) Burton of Peoria; one grandchild; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Claude Curless of East Peoria.

He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.

He was a Vermont Cemetery sexton for 26 years and also worked as a farmer. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and Vermont Legion Post 26.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont, with Rev. J. B. Troops officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
