M. Leonard Curless Dies At Age 50

M. Leonard Curless, 50, of Glasford died at 2:25 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 1980, in Graham Hospital at Canton.

He was born Feb. 18, 1930, at Astoria, a son of Claude and Verna (Shawgo) Curless. He married Catherine Talbert Nov. 3, 1950, at Spring Bay.

She survives, along with his father of Spring Bay; his mother of East Peoria; one son, Stephen Curless of Glasford; two daughters, Vicky at home and Mrs. Michael (Diana) Lammi of Rockford and three grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, Lester of Jacksonville, Fla., Perry of Spring Bay and Bernard of Metamora, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Genseal of Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. Alice Rose of East Peoria.

Mr. Curless was employed by Caterpillar Tractor Co. in the East Peoria Plant as a multiple drill operator, and was a member of Local 974, UAW at Caterpillar.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Oaks Memorial Chapel at Canton, with Rev. David Kueker officiating. Burial was in White Chapel Memory Gardens at Canton.
