John D. Chambers Dies At Age 63John D. Chambers Dies At Age 63John D. Chambers, 63, of Astoria, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday at the Veteran’s Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Chambers was born in Fulton County on July 28, 1908, the son of Hurshel and Etta Beadles Chambers. He was married to Vera Weese on Dec. 14, 1934 in Lewistown. She survives.
He was a member of the Berean Christian Church at Ipava and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his widow and a half-sister, Mrs. Etta Bordner of California.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon in the Shawgo Memorial Home with Rev. Dale Eddington officiating. Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery.
