Services Wednesday For Mrs. Crayton

Funeral services for Mrs. Audella Mae Crayton, 65, of Bowen were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at the Cookson and Son Funeral Home in Augusta with the Rev. James Weiss officiating. Burial was in the Provine Chapel Cemetery at Fairview, Ill.

Mrs. Crayton died at Carthage Memorial Hospital Sunday evening, March 29.

Mrs. Crayton was born Jan. 2, 1905, at Milford, Neb., the daughter of Chauncy and Margaret James Coley Miller.

She was a member of the Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

On Aug. 4, 1924, she married George Earnest Crayton at Lewistown. He died March 15, two weeks before Mrs. Crayton’s death.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Clara Wetzel of Rockford, Mrs. Audella Brown of Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs. Alta Reed of Staton, Ore., and Mrs. George Carper of Lakeview, Mich.; one son, James Crayton of Burlington, Wis.; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers, Raymond Miller of Canton, Sterling Miller of Woodhall, Ill., Theodore Miller of Marietta, Oscar Miller of North Henderson, Ill., and Alfred Miller of Rushville; and one sister, Mrs. Bert (Alta) Wells of Alpha, Ill.

She was also preceded in death by three infant sons, Lloyd, Oliver and Elmer and a brother, Floyd Miller, who was killed in World War II.

Mrs. Audella Crayton Of Bowen Dies

Mrs. Audella Mae Crayton, 65, of Bowen died Sunday evening at Carthage Memorial Hospital.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Cookson and Sons Funeral Home of Augusta.

The Craytons are former Astoria residents. Mrs. Crayton’s husband, Ernest, died March 15 of this year.
