Emery Curless Bluff City Dies

Emery Curless, a life long resident of Bluff City, died at his home in that village Friday, following an illness covering a period of several years. He was confined to his home for the past seven months. He bore his suffering patiently, always looking at the brighter side of life. All was done that loving hands could do to relieve him.

Mr. Curless lived a quiet life and his chief delight was in his family and home, where he will be greatly missed. He was converted in Christian faith in his home a few weeks ago. He was a member of the Modern Woodman lodge.

Emery Curless, son of John W. and Jane Curless, was born at Bluff City, April 4th, 1858. At his death he was aged 72 years, 4 months and 11 days.

He was united in marriage to Eliza Jane McKee March 23rd, 1889. To this union three children were born. Two sons, Thomas and Ernest preceded in death. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Edith Moore of Bluff City, eight grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Archie of Idaho, Elmer, Hartford and Rex of Bluff City, Ill., Mrs. Nettie Brant of Chicago, Mrs. Flora Mote and Mrs. Nellie Rose of Bluff City.

Funeral services were held at the church in Bluff City Sunday at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. Thompson officiating. Interment in Bluff City cemetery.
